BC Wolves sign LTU national team standout Vaidas Kariniauskas to club roster

A new face is set to join the BC Wolves of Vilnius. The Wolves recently announced the signing of Vaidas Kariniauskas to a two-year contract just in time for the upcoming season. The Lithuanian national team member who recently competed in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup previously had a contract with M Basket-Delamode Mažeikiai.

V. Kariniauskas returns to Lithuania after playing in Romania, where he suited up for Bucharest's Rapid ball club and logged 12.4 points, 4.4 assists and 2.5 rebounds in almost 24 minutes of action per game.

In the just-concluded World Cup, he averaged 4 points and 3.1 assists per game per 14 minutes of playing time. V. Kariniauskas played his best during the match against Team USA, where he top-scored with 15 markers while adding 4 rebounds and 2 assists in Lithuania's huge win.

During his career, the 6'6" guard also played in several clubs from the Lithuanian Basketball League, becoming a national champion twice, and plied his trade in Italy, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Germany.

"We are happy that Vaidas joined our ranks, he performed well in the men's national team and probably silenced many critics. He will bring to our team not only great playmaking skills, but also experience and a tough attitude that we desperately need. Vaidas is a real fighter and leader who can rally the team behind him, so we hope that it is in our team that he will reveal his best qualities as a creator", said Algimantas Bružas, Head of Basketball Operations, about the club's latest sign up.

Jeffery Taylor, Christian Mekowulu, Tre'Shawn Thurman, Djorje Gagic, Rasheed Sulaimon, Kristupas Žemaitis, Arnas Beručka, Adas Juškevičius, Eigirdas Žukauskas, Regimantas Miniotas and Vitalijs Kozys also have contracts with the BC Wolves for the upcoming season.
